I'm 34 and remember the commercials for Metricification on TV.

I think in Celsius for temperature (though I know Fahreinheit too), miles for distances, km/h for wind speed, pounds for person weight, kg for grocery weight, and liters for liquid volumes

Totally mixed up.

Hey, ok i aint as mad as i sound ;-)

whenever you look up at a bight source of light usually say if your in a dark room and you look through a bright window you can see, what can only be described as the above. I'm not looking for a supernatural theory to this, i know there's a scientific explaination for the what's happening. Some kind of electron flares or something hitting the senses in your eye, anyone know what i'm talking about? i know there's an explaination forthis as we once learnt about it in physics at school. any ideas?

Do you know why a person can get shocked with a million Volts and live just because the Current level is low. I learned about this in high shcool, and even got shocked by half a million Volts and was fine, I just can't remember the science behind it. All I really know is that its current that harms you, not Voltage. Let me know the scientific explanation or a website that has the explanation. Thanks.

Someone told me once that it is impossible, not matter the size of a piece of paper, to fold a piece of paper in half more than 7 times (or 6 times or something like that). Is this true?

I don't know if I am asking this question correctly... So let me try to explain...

You are looking at a screen with a radar sweep. Usually, everything is lightened up as the sweep goes around (or the signal is going out). When something comes into the radar's view, it bleeps and lights up brighter showing that the signal gone out is being reflected/refracted/scattered/etc.

Now, what is is called when the the sweep goes around, but a portion of the signal coming off the antenna disappears into nothingness as if it has been absorbed... the signal lost and gone? (think like absorbed as in a black hole)

It would almost look like a dark spot on the radar screen... What is that "empty" area called...

I want to say it is called a "dead" something... like "dead air" or "dead space" or a "dead spot" in the radar... or "black area" or something...

Do any of you know what I mean? If so, do you know the correct technical terms?

Thanks...
T.
