Recently I witnessed something very shocking. A friend held a gold chain and ring over someones hand and predicted what children they had. If the ring swung back and forth it would meen a boy and if it were to swing in a circle then it would be a girl. It even stoped all by itself between each child and then started again in a different motion. This elegedly also predicts what children you are going to have and in what order. Sounds stupid I know, but honestly I am not kidding you. Since then my wife has been trying this on everyone for the past few days and it doesn't fail, it is becoming more and more spooky. Now she is convinced that we are going to have boy, girl, boy in that order as our results are both the same every time.

The friend who showed us this said it is to do with the bodies electrical impulces.

Anyone else heard of this and can anyone begin to explain it?

Need more info on laser light...

From CNN:

http://archives.cnn.com/2000/TECH/space/07/20/speed.of.light.ap/#graph

Scientists have apparently broken the universe's speed limit.

For generations, physicists believed there is nothing faster than light moving through a vacuum -- a speed of 186,000 miles per second.

But in an experiment in Princeton, New Jersey, physicists sent a pulse of laser light through cesium vapor so quickly that it left the chamber before it had even finished entering.

The pulse traveled 310 times the distance it would have covered if the chamber had contained a vacuum.

in my science experiment, you have a glass of cold water, and on top of that, a layer of canola oil (which floats above the water because it is less dense). if you pour a little bit of salt over it, the salt sinks, and some of the oil encases the grains as it sinks. when the salt disolves, the oil once more floats to the surface.

but why is the oil attracted to the salt in the first place?
