1. Let n=2^14 * 3^9 * 5^8 * 7^10 * 11^3 * 13^5 * 37^10.
a) how many divisors does n have?
b) how many divisors in a are divisible by m=2^3*3^4*5^7*11^2*37^2
(where n^m is n to the mth power and * = times)

2. Let m=8408400 and n=9316125
a) write m and n as a product of primes.
b. Without using the Euclidean Algorithm, find the greatest common divisor of m and n

3. Prove n is odd if and only if n^2+1 is even

4. Disprove: If n, m are perfect squares then n+m must be a perfect square

5. Use the Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic to find the smallest interget n so that n * 1260 is a perfect cube

NOTE: i KNOW it's kind of scrambled and hard to read, but I didn't know what else to do. this is seriously killing me and the professor is impossible to understand in class.

I have a set of N points in a 2 (or 3) dimensional space. How do I find the point P for which the sum of distances to the N points is minimal?
Is there a known name for this problem?
Thanks.

We have to build an arch bridge for a geometry class, with abutments, voussoirs, and a keystone.

http://www.makingthemodernworld.org.uk/learning_modules/maths/02.TU.03/illustrations/02.IL.24.gif

How big should the measurments of each part be? How many voussoirs should there be?

Would it work if we had 10 voussoirs total? The measurments of each voussoir as:

3 in and 4 in (nonparallel sides)
3 in and 3 in (parallel sides)
75 degrees (bottom base angles)
105 degrees (top base angles)

If that works, what should the keystone measures be? And the abutments?

Thanks so much!

5th space.

Doubles you roll again.

Chance is the 7th space.

One Chance card says to go to Reading Railroad.

One says to advance to GO.

There are (I think) 14 chance cards.

I am going back to college after a long time off and am switching my major. In my new major in need to take calculus. I have only taken"liberal arts" type math classes in college and have not taken algebra. I am currentley studying what i believe to be algebra 1 out of a book called teach yourself algebra. I know i am not ready to take calculus when i start school next semester and would like to take precalculus. I would rather not have to take algebra 2 because from what I see precalculus is a review of algebra plus trig. Do I absolutley need algebra 2 before I take precalculus? I feel I am pretty good at learning math, I enjoy it and I will have a lot of time to study. I would like some opinions on this.

If f(x)=ax^3+bx^2+cx+d, a ≠ 0, determine a,b,c,d so that f has a local minimum at (0,3) and a local maximum at (4,12).

I understand that the critical numbers are 0 and 4, but I'm not quite sure how to start this problem. Any help/work is much appreciated. Thanks.

I'm helping my brother with a Geometry project. The object of the project is to provide pictures along with each vocabulary term. There were 30 terms and now I'm down to needing just two more pictures! I need a picture ideas for: diameter and radius. They can't just be a drawing of the vocabulary term. The pictures have to be creative. I would really appreciate your help :)

2) The side of a large tent is the shape of an isosceles triangle whose area is 54 ft^2 and whose base is 6 ft shorter than twice its height. Find the height and the base of the side of the tent.

3) A farmer plans to use 21 m of fencing to enclose a rectangular pen having area 55 m^2. Only three sides of the pen need fencing because part of an existing wall will from the fourth side. Find the dimensions of the pen.

Thanks.
