1 m³ = (1000)³ mm³

1 m³ = 1,000,000,000 mm³

1 meter equals 1000 millimeters.
1 cubic meter would equal 1000^3 cubic millimeters.
Think of it this way...There would be 1000 little cubes across the length and 1000 across the width. That would just be for a flat box 1 mm in height. 1000*1000=1,000,000
Now you have to build on that flat box to a heght of 1000 mm.
Each level would be 1 mm tall. Build that flat box 1000 more times. 1,000,000*1000=1,000,000,000 little boxes to fill that volume. 1,000^3 mm^3

Hi,
The answer is:
1000*1000*1000
=1000,000,000 mm^3.
What they have done in the drawing is convert 1 meter to millimeters. 1m = 1000mm. So, you just muliply the three sides, and you get the anwer.

You are shown that each side of the cube is 1000 mm

So the volume of the cube is 1000*1000*1000 mm^3
or 1,000,000,000 mm^3
or 10^9 mm^3

Your choice ;)

Volume of a cube is the length of the edge (1000) cubed
or (1000)*(1000)*(1000) = 1,000,000,000 one billion

The illustrations SAYS that the edge is 1 meter, and it SHOWS that the edge is 1000mm. So 1m = 1000mm.
This equation gives you two conversion factors to use: 1m/1000mm and 1000mm/1m

One cubic meter = 1m∙1m∙1m.
You want to convert m into mm, so apply a conversion factor to each m:
1m∙1m∙1m = 1m(1000mm/m)∙1m(1000mm/m)∙1m(1000mm/m)
All the m's cancel out so
1m(1000mm/m)∙1m(1000mm/m)∙1m(1000mm/m) = 1000³mm³
which can also be written as
10⁹mm

I m^3 = 1000 mm^3

because 1 meter = 1000 milimeters

Volume of a solid = Length x Width x Height

So with each side being 1000mm....it would be 1000mm * 1000mm * 1000mm = 1,000,000,000mm^3

Volume = length x breadth x height for any cube3-like shape.

In this case,

1 m^3 = 1,000 mm x 1,000 mm x 1,000 mm

= 1,000,000,000 mm^3

That's it!

Standard conversion.

1mm = 1mm=0.1cm =.01dm = .001m
10mm = 1cm = .1dm = .01m
100mm = 1dm = .1m
1000mm = 1m
