Suppose that f(x) is an even function, and g(x) is an odd function. Consider the function h(x) = (f ◦ f)(x) + (f ◦ g)(x) + (g ◦ f)(x). Is h(x) odd, even or neither?

These are the values:

0 | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
4 | 6 | 7 | 7.5 | 7.75 | 7.875 | 7.9375 |

(Excuse my crappy table making skills!)

The top row is X and the bottom is Y, the pattern will continue. I think the equation will be an exponential one but I am unsure.

Thank you for your help.

I'm relearning highschool mathematics, and teaching myself higher level mathematics, and I spent a few minutes on this question but got stuck at the point of determining cos(6b) = ? Please look at the question below, and correct my mistakes and determine the final answer. I'm curious. I have no homework to turn in, but I'd love to know how this works.

Thank you!

What is the derivative of 1+2x/(1+x^2)
The answer does not accord with my normally flawless mental computations...plus I don't see how it could have been arrived at...its 2-c/(1+x^2)^(3/2)...
Huh..?
First principles, anyone..?

I need help deriving the following equation for covariance:

cov(X1,X2)=E((X1-mu1)(X2-mu2))

I think I can use the equation cov(X1,X2)=E(X1X2)-E(X1)E(X2) in the derivation if needed.

I also need to know what number is representing each leg of the triangle. Is #x the smallest leg or #y, or vice versa. Here's the problem:

Consider an angle θ in standard position whose terminal side has the equation y = -5x, with x ≤ 0. Find the exact values of sin θ, cos θ, and tan θ.

I don't really need any explanations except for the leg part I noted above. All I need is to see the whole problem worked out and I'll get it. Our book is really vague, but I learn by seeing, so if you can help with the whole thing it'll be appreciated, and of course I'll reward you, serious people only please.

∫ [x^9 sqrt(x^5 - 3) ] dx

So this is what i did

∫ [x^9 sqrt(x^5 - 3) ] dx = ∫ [x^5 * x^4 * sqrt(x^5 - 3) ] dx

let u = x^5 then du = 5x^4 dx

∫ u sqrt(u - 3) du

Now what? stuck.... Do substition again?
