Hi,

Similar to your previous posting, simplify each grouping separately on the right hand side of the equation.

Therefore, you should get:

F = -27 + 32

F = 5 <=== FINAL ANSWER

I hope that helps you out! Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Sincerely,

Andrew

Break down the calculation....

9/5 = 1.8

1.8(-15) means to multiply
1.8*-15 = -27
-27+32 = 5

F=5

simplified, the equation looks like
(1.8*-15)+32 Simplified further
-27+32=5

Use order of operation:
F= 9/5(-15) + 32

First, do parenthesis: 9/5 x (-15) = -27
Then add -27 + 32 =5.

9/5 = 1.8
Multiply -15 x 1.8
Total is -27
Add 32 to -27 (which is the same as subtracting 27 from 32.
Your answer would be 5.

This is the formula to convert temperature from celsius to fahrenheit, F = 9/5*C +32

F = 9/5(-15) +32
f = (9*-15)/5 +32
F = -27 +32
F = 5

the Celsius temperature is -15C...

so using order of operations... multiply/divide first, then add...

-15/5 = -3
-3*9 = -27
-27 + 32 = 5 degrees F...

Let's see...I will give his a try...
F = 9/5(-15) + 32
9/5(-15)
9/5 = 1.8
1.8 * -15 = -27
so..
F = -27 + 32
F = 5

I am not going to mess with this problem, but as long as you know pemdas, you have no problem. Just think about it and do it in order. Obviously, if you have 9/5 you have to divide and come to a decimal and then the rest comes. I don't know what they teach everyone else around the world to learn algerbra, but the pemdas= please excuse my dear aunt sally. As long as you stick to that formula, you won't ever get the problem wrong, even when you might not understand it. If you still need help, email me. Algerbra is fun.
