Find the exact roots (algebraically) for the cubic equation x^3-5x^2-7x+51=0 (include a list of all possible integral roots) Support your findings with the graph of an appropriate cubic polynomial, clearly explainging how this graph confirms your algebraic solution:
This is my solution :
x^3-5x^2-7x+51=0
f(-3)=(-3)^3-5(-3)^2-7(-3)+51
=0 therefor (x+3) is a factor

(x^3-5x^2-7x+51) divided by (x+3)
= x^2-8x+17 therefor x^2-8x+17=0 is a factor...
so the following roots are x=-3 and x=+-squareroot -4 all over 2

My 6th grader has a project that I am stumped on. It has to be a timer that measures 10 seconds consistently, opperate with little effort, and sturdy. It will be measured on square centimeters, cubic centimeters, and mass they are looking for it to be small and light weight and has to be aesthetically pleasing. Wow they are not asking for much are they and this is only 6ht grade! Thank you for anyone who can help me with any ideas.

If someone could give a little help on this problem I'd really appreciate it. I've been trying to solve this for 2 hours.
yz=n(2y+2z)+4µ
xz=n(2x+2z)+4µ
xy+n(2x+2y)+4µ
2xz+2xy+2yz=1500
4x+4y+4z=200

I'm very confused about math...Algebra actually...
Lets say you have 3 consecutive numbers, and the sum of them is 21...
You would do...
x + x + 1 + x + 2 = 21
3x +3 = 21
3x = 18
x = 6
But if you have 3 consecutive odd numbers, you would do x + x + 2 + x + 4...
WHY?!?! If you have 1 as x, then you'll get 1, 3, 5 for the numbers, and it would make sense... But if you have 2, 4, 6, it wouldn't make sense!!!
So basically... I want to know...
1) What's the reasoning behind the 3 consecutive odd numbers thing... Can someone explain how you make the equation?
2) Did I even get the odd numbers equation right?
3) What's the equation for 3 consecutive even numbers?
4) What's the reasoning behind the 3 consecutive even numbers thing? EXPLAIN!!!

THANK YOU!!!
And please don't just repeat what I said... I'm looking for explanations!

I pull into the driveway between a fence and my house, with not much room to spare. Then the driveway fans out into three spaces: One straight a head, another to the right , and another to the right again. On the far right is a row of hedges where I park. I have no trouble pulling in without hitting the hedges. However when I pull out, I can barely get the back end of the car between the fence and the house without scratching the right front fender on the hedges. Related to this is the question: Is backing up a reciprocal function to going forward? In other words, if I could replicate my steering when backing up (in relation to distance traveled), would the car go over the same path? If the answer is yes, then I just need to improve my driving skills. But I suspect that since the car is wide in relation to the spaces involved, it may not be reciprocal.
