it wants me to state the points at which the curve crosses the X axis, and or state the equations of any asymptotes.

so the function that is being applied is f(x)=1/x

the questions is - a, f(x+2)

Can someone do it, step by step.

The function has a vertical asymptote x=0 and a horizontal asymptote y=0. The curve never crosses the x-axis.

The f(x+2) just shifts the graph of f(x) 2 units to the left. The vertical asymtote is at x = -2. The horizontal asymptote remains at y = 0.
