In Triangle A B C., angle C is (8x+4) degrees and segment AB = (6x+2)mm.
Part a. What value of x would make Triangle A B C.equilateral?
Part b. What is the perimeter or sum of the lengths of the sides of the equilateral triangle? Be sure to include the unit of measure in your solution.

Write the perimeter of the rectangle as a simplified polynomial. Then factor this polynomial completely.

54x2

6x3 + 120x

12(x2 + 5)(x + 4)
12x(x + 5)(x + 4)
6x(x + 20)(x + 9)
6x2(x + 5)(x + 4)

Line 1 is parallel to line 2. If the slope of L1 is x/4, and the slope of L2 is (x+5)/6, find the value of x.

Okay, now most people say this is how the problem is solved....but what in the world did they do with the 6? By the looks of it, they dived the 4 by 4 to get rid of the x...but how did the 6 become 2?????

x/4=(x+5)/6
6x=(4x+20)
2x=20
x=10

I need to find the volume of the solid obtained by rotating the region given by the given curves about the y-axis bounded by

y=36x-6x^2 & y=0

so I have plotted the graph and found the points of intersection to be at 0 and 6

I found the expression of the indefinite integral:

-2x^3 +18x^2 + C

Then I found the parameters I will use to find the volume of my solid which I found by finding the maximum value of y=36x-6x^2 by taking the derivative and setting it to zero. This gave me a value of 3.

So I integrate the function from [0,3] but this only gives me the cross-sectional area.

How do I use the washer method to finish this question? or... did I approach it wrong?

I know that x+b/2a=the square root of b squared-4ac over 2a comes next but I don't know why.

Please can someone explain and I'm sorry I can't use maths symbols on the computer. If anyone could tell me how to do that too it would be helpful.

y = 49x2 + 4x - pi , your grade would be the derivative, dy/dx,
evaluated for the independent variable x = 1. Good luck.

This is my test grade on my college algebra test after I requested my grade. My professor thinks he's funny.
