Does anyone know of a web site that lists the latitude and longitude of popular or interesting places? I enjoy finding such places on Google Earth but it gets tedious scanning for things to look at.

As the earth rotates 15 degrees in one hour west to east, suppose a plane remains stationary in space & then after one hour the point of earth coming below it will be the place which was 15 degrees to the west than when it started in stationary position ?
Is this possible (if we think that a plane can remain stationary)?

i know Russia is geographically Eastern, but is it culturally Western?

there are some nations in the world wherein they are eastern when it comes to location but western when it comes to culture. such as Australia.
Ethnic Russians are slavic not turkic. slavic then can trace their roots to the ancient Greeks, therefore slavic is western. ethnic Russians are culturally western.

Why do we never hear of them? I have never heard of them before until I saw them on the map. Who lives there? Are they used for military bases? What is their political status? Do they have governments? Can they vote? Thank you for quenching my curiousity!
