Balance the following equation by the half-reaction method in an acidic or basic solution as indicated.

Cr2O72- + C2H5OH --> Cr3+ + CO2 ( acidic )

You must enter the correct coefficients of the above reactants and products as a single group of integers.

Example:

C2H5OH(aq) + Cr2O72-(aq) --> CH3CO2H(aq) + Cr3+(aq)

the balanced equation is

3C2H5OH(aq) + 2Cr2O72-(aq) + 16H3O+(aq) --> 3CH3CO2H(aq) + 4Cr3+(aq) + 27H2O(l)

you would enter 3234 for an answer.

Hi.

I need to come up with a project for my chemistry class. I'm looking for some good ideas, on topics that would be easy to research + full of information and interesting.

I would like it to be a written paper, on one topic, like last time i wrote a paper on Weapons Of mass distruction. How they are made and what not..

Best idea will recive 10 points.

Thanks.

So the results conclude that when you add heat, the reaction speeds up because the particles speed up and more collisions occur to start the reaction. What is the significance of the results, and What is an example of a real-life situation? [I cannot use the refrigeration example]
