i am also confused on net ionic equations...if anyone could help me i would REALLY REALLY appriciate it!!! :D

Net ionic equations deal with the ions that change form during the reaction. The ions that do not change form and remain in solution are called "spectator ions" because the just watch what happens to the other ions.

To determine the net ionic equation you must note the condition of the ions in both the reactants and products. Any ions that do not change are the spectator ions and are left out of the net ionic equation.

AgNO3 (aq) + NaCl (aq) --> AgCl (s) + NaNO3 (aq)

In the situation above, the Na and NO3 are both (aq) in the reactants and products. That means they are spectator ions and should be left out of the net ionic equation. That leaves the following net ionic:

Ag 1+ (aq) + Cl 1- (aq) --> AgCl (s)

The charges are determined by the location of each on the periodic table, or by determining the charge by comparing the ions they are joined to.

A net ionic equation shows compounds that are in solution broken up into their ions. For example, the reaction of HCl with NaOH. The chemical equation would look like

HCl+NaOH=NaCl+H2O

The net ionic equation would be
H+Cl+Na+OH=Na+Cl+H2O
with a one plus charge on the H and Na, and a one minus charge on the OH and Cl

To know what charge to put on what ion you just need to memorize them. Look up ionic charges and you should be able to find a site that lists all the elements and tells you what their charge may be when they become ions.
