A solution of sodium chloride in water has a vapor pressure of 20.9 torr at 25 degrees C. What is the mole fraction of NaCl solute particles in this solution?
What would be the vapor pressure of this solution at 45 degrees C? The vapor pressure of pure water is 23.8 torr at 25 degrees C and 71.9 torr at 45 degrees C and assume sodium chloride exists as Na+ and Cl- ions in solution.

My professor has assigned us to write an essay on the following equilibrium equation.

H2(g) + I2(g) « 2 HI(g)

What happens in the container on the molecular level as the reaction starts and then reaches equilibrium?

Basically we are suppose to write an essay of 300 words regarding this and I do not know what happens and I can't figure it out from the research I have done.

If anyone can give me a start to this or any clues to how to figure this out...that would be GREAT!!

Thanks!
