I know 'living' is sometimes hard to define but does science have any explanations?

I am supposing it was some microscopic algae or bacteria...if so, is there any fossil record of this species, or is it still in existence?

What are the characteristics that make or allow enzymes to do their job?

Under what condition or changes do enzymes not function?

I have a lab on Thursday, and I need to find out how to test for a enzyme that won't function in its regular environment. Any ideas? Any at all!!:)

Instead of taking a swab from inside your own mouth but instead from inside your cat's mouth and sent it off for the results. What would be the outcome, would anything come back?
Would the company be shocked at what they found and send round big white vans with people in bio-suits like they did in ET to take you away?
