It seems that a lot of people have projects for school and come on this site the night before to start working on their assignment.

If someone had an excellent grasp on the overwhelming majority of the material in an AP Biology class, how prepared would they be for a biological career? Also, how adept would they be at thinking in biological terms of natural selection and other theories?

My teacher says that the class covers more material than a simple introductory biology class, but I am not certain this assessment is accurate.

So, for those of you biologists out there who are familiar with the exam, is it really that useful an indicator of one's understanding of biology, or is it simply an indicator of one's understanding of lower level biology?

I've heard iron carries oxygen in the human red blood cells. Thats certainly because iron is a highly oxydable metal. Hence i'm wondering if other metals such as copper can accomplish that same phenomena in the human body.

I need a plant that can thrive without absorption of minerals from soil.

Previously, the plant cells need ATP, RuBP, NaDPH, sulphur, magnesium, copper, boron, Chlorine, Potassium, Calcium, ...... ,right?

This is an ambitious project, I am making impossible into possible.

I need a plant that can thrive on air, intaking only oxygen, carbon, and nitrogen. The plant absorb water from air. I need the Adenosine Triphosphate mutated into Adenosine TriNitrate. I want everything be able to be retrieved from air.

For example, by bonding hydrogen atom to a carbon atom, they have the electrovalence same as Boron.

The thing does not have to keep on embracing on DNA, ATP, Cam, C4 or biological matters, they can be made physically. For instance, by creating concentration gradient, a DNA can split.

Please give only positive response. If you are a chemist, genetic master, biologist or interested in it, please leave your message below your post. Thank you very much.

I'm just a girl getting ready for university but I can't imagine working so hard on something I don't like!!!
What I mean is, I want to become a nutritionist but I don't want to go go through all the boring learning part! Science, chemistry, biology and all that!!! what do I do?
a lot of it is interesting but a lot of it is boring!!!!!

I just like helping people with their health and a good way to do that is to become a nutritionist or doctor but how do I get myself excited so I'll be able to study with passion???
I don't like learning crazy boring details! Somebody correct my way of thinking!!!! am i just plain lazy?

Like when somebody wants to create a movie, for example, they have to do all those boring and hard things in the process but really all they want is the final project and fame and all that !! so how do they get involved with all the details with excitement when it's not exciting at all....?????

1- Which of the following is a source of new alleles within a population?

A-mutation
B-meiosis
C-genetic drift
D-genetic recombination
I think it is D?

2- New alleles arise by:

A-random mating.
B-genetic drift.
C-independent assortment.
D-migration.
E-mutation.
I think it is E. but I could be wrong. I am confused between question 1 and 2.

3-Four of the five answers listed below are portions of the theory of natural selection. Select the exception:

A-Natural selection is the result of differential reproduction.
B-More organisms are produced than can survive.
C-Variation is heritable.
D-The largest and strongest always contribute more genes to the next generation.
E-Heritable traits vary in adaptability.
Is D the right answer?
