I'm just a girl getting ready for university but I can't imagine working so hard on something I don't like!!!
What I mean is, I want to become a nutritionist but I don't want to go go through all the boring learning part! Science, chemistry, biology and all that!!! what do I do?
a lot of it is interesting but a lot of it is boring!!!!!

I just like helping people with their health and a good way to do that is to become a nutritionist or doctor but how do I get myself excited so I'll be able to study with passion???
I don't like learning crazy boring details! Somebody correct my way of thinking!!!! am i just plain lazy?

Like when somebody wants to create a movie, for example, they have to do all those boring and hard things in the process but really all they want is the final project and fame and all that !! so how do they get involved with all the details with excitement when it's not exciting at all....?????

You are the only one who can decide what trade-offs you want to make. That's life.

I want clean clothes.
It's boring to do laundry.
I do laundry anyway.

I want to teach biology.
It's boring to grade papers.
I teach biology, so I grade papers.

I want to visit my family.
It's boring to drive there.
I drive anyway because I want to see my family.

You don't sound to me as if you really want to be a nutritionist. And I distinctly remember reading this question in Answers before. Time to make up your own mind.

First, you're not "just a girl...". Anyone who write with such passion is more than a simple "just". So--let me give you my perspective (I'm a biochemist). First, you may find that the stuff you find boring now is actually more interesting than you thought; you may also find the reverse--that some things that excite you now are boring later on. No, you're not just lazy! It's hard to get excited about something without passion. What I can tell you is that you really want to know the "what", but the basics like chemistry, biology and so on will tell you the "why". That can be fundamentally exciting, since you'll learn **why** it's important to eat certain things, **how** and **why** the body reacts the way it does. Also--it will make you a better nutritionalist. As an example--if you're a plumber you can learn by rote how to do the simple things, but if you run into something more complex then understanding **how** water pressure, hydraulics, etc., work can help you solve the problem.

Well, I hope this helps. Best of luck, and ask again if you want more info!!

so im only 14 but i have wanted to be judge for 5 years, i've been to different trials and have done some research...yeah it sboring. But what i think is that the law school is only a small part of my life, and if i go through with it will be able to help out a lot of people. Also, i don't have to only do boring stuff like read about it all day when i'm there, i can always go out to a party if i set a time limit or something. You can do the same. Nuetritionists are great they really do help alot of peopel. you should do type 1 diabetes(genetic not related to how a person eats) its really interesting and fun, they always have different fundraiser for it that are a blast, the last one was at oaks park. Plus when you think about it you could end up helping a whole bunch of kids (that generally when they get this disease) You could show them how to take their shots and test themsleves and encourage them that some day there could be a cure. So the answer is to think about the positives when you are begining to doubt.

I know how you feel. My major is Nursing and let me tell you, it's very stressful, and it's boring as well. It's only my first year in the program [I graduated from HS last year]. Anatomy and Physiology class is a killer [I admit] but you really get used to it as you move along. You just need to keep your hopes up and find an exciting way to learn. The information is dull, some of it is interesting, but you got to keep in mind that it's important. So if you want to pursue the career that you're going for [which is great by the way] you're just going to have to be very deligient and hopeful. A negative attitude doesn't really pay off, which is how I was in the beginning. But as the semester went along, I viewed things differently. It's always hard in the beginning, but then it gets easier, believe me!!

what if you wanted to be a mechanic? would you refuse to pick up a wrench?

school sucks. i hate it. i don't have trouble learning and I don't really think it's "boring" - i actually got into my economics and western civilization classes! they want us all to be "well-rounded". I feel you.

you want to be a nutritionist but you don't want to study science? how will you ever know the difference between a starch and a sugar or know a good bacteria from a bad one or a fat soluble vitamin from one that's souble in water? if you don't like science, you're going into the wrong field! school is temporary, but if I were seeing a nutritionist who told me she hated her science classes because she thought science was too hard and boring, i'd find a different one.
What classes DO you like? take those and see where it gets you. follow your passion.

I don't know what to tell you - it's your call
