Bacterias that have been stained and continue to hold the stain after treatment with an acidic solution, for example " Tuberculosis " Bactria are acid fast when stained with a carbol fuchsin preparation. Similarly " mycobacterium leprae " which causes Leprosy or Hansen,s disease.

No - but the over-reliance on that technology causes me grave concerns. It is perfectly all right to use those things when they are warranted, but when it becomes just a sort of arms race to see who has the most innovative stuff, and people start to go for those things instead of the basics, then society runs the risk of losing all contact with HOW things are done and begins to lose itself in relying on an unreliable machine. You see clear examples of this in schooling these days - wherein all the hard work is done by pre-programmed pods and stuff, and hardly any by the human brain. I began to notice this trend a few years ago, when the 'payroll manager' was incapable of doing the simple calculations of the job when the computer went down. (lessee now - ten hours at $11.20 an hour is... plus a $4 meal allowance.... buggar.. I need that computer... that must be.. eeeerrrrm... about, oh , say $100 or so give or take).....
