It seems that a lot of people have projects for school and come on this site the night before to start working on their assignment.

Procrastination mostly (a bad habit I must admit to). Laziness is also a factor, maybe they don't have enough time, or perhaps they dread doing it.
As to why they come on Yahoo Answers at the last minute, maybe they need help with a question, and couldn't find the answer using other resources.

sometimes its just about entertainment. when i have hw to do sometimes i think about doin it and when i try to get started i realize how boring its gonna be and how much i dont wanna do it. then i just say well ill do this for a while and do hw later.......... also i have A.D.D. but dont think that thats why this is. i have been on meds for 6 years so thats not it. also just to make it clear i am not retarded......... 2 many people confuse that with bein mentally challenge also im real laid back i dont have A.D.H.D. i just have trouble foucusing. it is proven that with high school students alot of people have a very slight version of it. but its not a medical thing its a bored thing.
