I suppose that it might be too much of a stretch to imagine whether or not a human could reproduce with a fish, but how about other mammals?

Would it be possible to impregnate a human with biological material from a horse?

How about other members of the biological family Hominidae? Could we impregnate an orangutan, a gorilla, or a chimpanzee with human seed? Could we impregnate a human with the seed of a chimp?

Even if it the offspring were not able to reproduce, what would we get?

I've just thought of a possible way of putting YEC to the test! A potential decisive experiment.

YEC holds that all animals alive today were decended from the species on the ark (around 4,000 years ago), two of every unclean beast and SEVEN of every clean beast.

This makes a number of predictions:
1. If you calculated the diversity implicit in the mitocondrial DNA of unclean species and factored in their frequency of reproduction you would end up with the same answer for each species.
2. If you then factored in the rate of change of mitocondrial DNA you would get back to around 4,000 years ago
3. If you repeated the experiment on clean animals you would get radically different, universally "older" results.

What do you reckon? Could this decide the issue?

i'm a student trying 2 get AGL20 gene products via PCR from the plant Piper sarmentosum Roxb (betel). I'm using AGL20 primers, 5'-ccc-cat-atg-gtg-agg-ggc-aaa-act-c-3' and 5'-ccc-gga-tcc-tca-ctt-tct-tga-aga-aca-agg-3'.

problem is however, that i have not been able to produce any pcr product bands even after >20 tries (absolutely no pcr products). the genomic dna samples used for pcr have been extracted using a modified CTAB method and show quite well on gel electrophoresis. i have tried variations with the PCR mix, including increasing or decreasing template/MgCl/dNTP/Taq/primer concentrations, but none give any results. hot starts, increasing denaturation and annealing times have also been tried. the annealing temperatures that i use range from 55-65 degrees C.

I know for a fact that the plant is capable of producing PCR products becos my senior has done it, although the products have all degraded.

so what r d problems that may be involved, n solutions?

Please watch this video. This is not a real person. This is a robot that Japanese people have produced.

It is very realistic. But even so, it still is not "alive".
What do you think makes things "live"?
Is this something encoded in our genes before we are born?
Or do we gain conscience from something else, say, god or something later?

If we find out what living and conscience is, could we encode it software wise into robots to make them living too?

Do you think we will ever be so advanced, the computers can decrypt an entire cell & tell us exactly what a person will look like upon reaching adulthood based on the genetic coding built into the cell reguarding living, growing, becoming an adult?

Imagine if we can record our life force to use after we die in another mind or something, reprogram it back?

Answers, anyone?

I read this somewhere but have not been able to locate the reference. I think it was in " the Skeptical environmentalist" by Bjorn Lomborg. If it is true it would be an interesting fact because empirical values can be assessed for both scientifically.

If you believe that mankind began as a single cell that sprang to life as the result of a cosmic accident, and that we have slowly progressed into the super intelligent beings that we have become, please tell me where you think we are headed from here.

Will we evolve into a race of giants or something?
Will we become so intelligent that we eventually evolve into gods ourselves?
Will we simply evolve into a single race, single gender species?
Maybe you believe that we are evolving back into apes and we are at the apex of evolution now. Why?
