It all started with Carolus Linnaeus ,a Swedish scientist who invented Taxonomy or Systemic Biology to classify organisms according to their very specific differences among species. More info below.

The direct answer to your question is: It helps them determine what Taxonomical classifications of each particular species.

you see in this world there are many languages....in every country people are calling the living organs in their own language..........so there are some problem will occur if you are going to other country....so scientists are preferred to keep the scientific names to the living organisms

IT I S DONE BECAUSE EACH ANIMALS HAVE EACH NAMES IN DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLD.TO AVOID CONFUSION,SCIENTIST USE SCIENTIFIC NAMES. THIS SYSTEM IS KNOWN AS BINOMIAL NOMENCLATURE.
