i have been studying about the sequences od DNA but i have seen in many detective programmes that the experts of the foreinsic sciences find out the type of DNA from a hair follicle. how is it done? i am very curious to know. can anybody tell me the proper answer for this?

Like I'm a right hander so I do everything with my right hand, I write with right hand etc
