MRI of thyroid area. Blood tests including Free T, TSH 1 and TSH 2. Maybe a needle biopsy.

i usually get my T3, T4 and TSH blood levels tested. when i was being diagnosed, i did a thyreiod ultrasound scanning and a contrast scan (when you take a bit of radioative iodine so the scan will show where it went inside the body).

I beleive they make you take iodine which can be traced and this will confirm how much of the fluid your thyroid is absorbing...something like that!

they perform tests to calculate the percentage of the gland`s secrition that is it`s hormones and also TSH that is secreted by the hypothalamus that stimulates it`s secretion
