How many of the 20 or so amino acids in the body require that they can produce themselves. Where does the body obtain the rest of the amino acids?

I need to see your source, too.

When we think...is it linear? Is thinking always done in language, or are thinking and reacting the same. Ex. Pulling hand away from a flame? AND if you are reacting to something like that...is it possible to still be thinking about something else at the exact same time?

First of all, I am not asking this from the point of view of a creationist, so please answer seriously and without just taking jabs at people of faith. The question is, there are vast gaps in the fossil record. If evolution were actually taking place, wouldn't the fossil record show an EXTREMELY smooth transition of the evolution of life forms? I mean really, really, extremely smooth. Changes according to evolution are so minor over many, many, many generations it seems there would be a much better record, and there would certainly be no talk of a "missing link" between man and his predecessors.

By the way, I was watching the Discovery Channel the other day about a new find of a pre-homosapien cranium, which was interesting; but what I found really interesting was an offhand comment one of the scientists made which was "You can put all of the fossils we have found to date of man and his ancestors in the back of a regular pickup truck. That ain't very many fossils.

I lived in China for 11 years and rarely saw teens whose face grew pimples, why is that? I mean shouldn't it be the opposite due to pollution? Many people say that pimples have nothing to do with diet....

"Crossing over occurs at the 4-strand stage. A single crossover between two genes at meiosis results in 2 parental-type chromatids and two recombinant chromatids. Double crossovers result in the following proportions of recombinant chromatids: Two-stand double crossover gives 0% recombination. Four strand double crossover gives 100% recombination. (This is equally common as the two strand DCOs). Three stand double crossover gives 50% recombination, and is twice as common as either the 2 stand or 4 strand event. Overall the result is that for genes far from each other, there will be independent assortment (50% recombinant progeny)." http://www.wsu.edu/~thorglab/biol301/lectures/lecture0130.html
I only need help with this: does it mean that two non-sister chromatids will cross over usually, but sometimes they'll cross over again, undoing the first crossover? and sometimes a third chromatid will cross over with one of those two; and that sometimes all four chromatids cross over? Right?
