Follow me for a second. this is for a sci-fi thing I am working on.

IF we are not from earth originally (I mean the human race) and a colinizing species, say from Mars or Venus, and we are not suited to the exact radation frequencies that eminate from our planet it slowly kills us. we already know that when we move away from the planet our atomic clock slows, so the further we get away from the planet, the longer we live, so by staying on the planet we are cutting our lifespans considerably. Thoughts?

What do you think about Uranus as a whole?

SO..if i were to want todivide the year into four quarters to form 4 exactly equidistant holiday periods......

.....then the equinoxes and solstices would be the ideal globally applicable time-points to designate for a secular and rational division of the year instead of all the spurious half baked illogical religious festivals..yes?

Does the sun have a surface?

You learn in school that the sun is a ball of gas or a continuous nuclear furnace, yet many references speak of a "surface" ie. the temp on the surface of the sun...etc. Now recent images of the sun reveal volcanic activity? What gives?

how do I buy a telescope?

I am interested in purchasing a telescope but I don't know what the specs mean ... i.e. Use (Astro, Terrest or both), Diameter (Mirror or Lens), Focal Length/ F Ratio, Magnification
(w/ included eyepieces), Highest theoretical magnification, etc. What is the better options to have? Thanks!
