If they do go through with their plans to man the moon then I hope they do it fast, because the longer they wait the more it is going to cost.

This time? We've tried it before? We havnt barely thought up packaging, life support systems, habitat layout/construction. Will we build on the surface, or dig in? Payload? Current delivery systems?
We will eventually get to it, when we have the propulsion to lift heavier spacecraft. Or if they can ever get this silly and unrealistic space-elevator idea to work. Then we could send supplies and cargo up to be assembled in orbit. then send it all to the moon at once.
Personally? We should dig in, and keep going down. Natural radiation shielding. And we need automated factories..

The goverment has to have someplace to say where( the money they have in their bank accounts) is going to. Why set up anything on the moon? you can't survive there for years like you do on Earth, you can't see the solar system any better there than here. Put the stough on Mars. Instead of looking back on the past ,we can look ahead to the past. If we start setteling, and building things on mars now, and we eventually end up on mars in a billion years from now, we will know where it came from, how it worked, how it got there. we will know our past.Instead of speculating, and spending( what ever they are useing for money then)millions of dollars like we do now. thats why we can't feed the people on our planet today.

I give the NASA plans a 50/50 chance. I actually think either some other country or even some private company, or group of companies, stand a better chance of doing it.
