The recent question about whether the weight of humanity affects the Earth, and an old question by someone who thinks if we all jumped up and down at the same time we could move the Earth, shows how people have no idea of the scale of things.

The Earth is 6 x 10^21 tonnes.

For people who are not familair with powers of 10, that number is 6 with 21 zeroes on the end, or 6 billion trillion tonnes.

If the average human is 50 Kg, the weight of the entire human race is 300 billion Kg

Divide by 1000 for tonnes; that is 300 million tonnes.

That is a pittance compared with the Earth.

If you divide the Earth's mass by the People's mass

6 x 10^21 divided by 3 x 10^8

You come out with 2 x 10^13

That is 20 trillion.

The Earth is 20 trillion times the mass of all the people put together.

They have removed the footage from youtube, but this movie showed camera footage looking at our galaxy and other galaxies from a distance away from earth. 100million light years away, then moving closer and going inside a persons cells to x -17. How do they do this when it is past the distance of any satellite and camera footage would be looking from earth which is the opposite direction?

there is a simpsons version available but is nowhere as good as the real thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCfDRvDWid0

What if the Atlantis was a planet that the pharaohs knew about and use to worship as the responsible of life on our planet , they had these astronauts uniforms as a symbol of belonging to another planet . Did they know about the secrets of life and about the true Atlantis which another culture that preceded them informed them about and were the true builders of the pyramids ?

I'm re-asking a q. I tried to ask weeks ago, only people answered before I could finish putting in all the details, and obviously had no idea of wha i was really asking. Okay, bear w' me.

I want to draw an analogy. The story is told of an elderly lady who attended a lecture on cosmology. Afterward, she told the lecturere that she didn't believe the Earth was a sphere, or that it floated in space.

"What do you believe?" he asked.

"The Earth is circular but flat,"she replied. "And it's not floating in space."

"What holds it up, then...?" he wanted to know.

It's resting on the back of a gigantic elephant!"

"What holds the elephant up?"

"It's standing on the back of an enormous turtle!"

"But what holds the turtle up?"

"It's standing on the back of an even more enormous turtle!"

"And where is that turtle standing...?"

"It's no use," she said with a smile. "It's turtles, all the way down!"

that there is a far more advanced alien civilization than ours and that earth is just one of its little experiments? a million years to us would just be an hour to them?

the following links show what I believe to be (NOT A CITY) but a dam, that was constructed by a civilization in need of water in the interior of the planet. if this feature (staple shaped at the edge of the ice cap) is merely natural, then why was it tampered with, as to make it look like alluvial flow? i added pics (links) to support this.

the following links reveal an attempt to touch up the staple shaped anomaly on the south pole of Mars:

note: the circled area refers to a square feature in a dry lake bed. the area in question is the staple shaped "smear" next to it.

I overheard someone saying he read about it. I thought it intruiging. Seems as though it would have to be an utlra dense star and the sand grain adds enough density to make it form a black whole, but, unfortunately, I've never studied physics. So, pardon me if I sound like an idiot.

I asked the internet; it didn't know.

There's a song about "flying into the star's corona" and the concept of doing something like that amazes me. Even if it's totally out there, could we ever invent technology to fly into a star? Or would the gravity just crush us to death no matter what?

I mean, are we going to be capable of reaching mars and stablish a permanent station there?, how long this could take?, we have already the necessary technology? it suppose to be an american or an international crew?
