After falling downhill for half of the trip, how much further would it go uphill using its kinetic energy? (Assume magnetic suspension.) If the heat energy picked up underground could be used to charge batteries, could it make the whole trip without using external energy?

Has anyone read the Cosmic Forces of Mu by James Churchward? Any interesting truths to be found there that might explain causes of gravity and the other 3 major forces of the universe? If there are 11 or 20 dimensions are we talking about physical dimensions? Or astral? Or something else? The mystics speak of many dimensions other than the 4 we know of the physical plane.

..the average family compact car doing average annual mileage OR the average family (2 adults + 2 children) just breathing for a year? (We can leave digestive gases out of the equations!) I have seen a calculation showing that they produce about the same...2.5 tonnes. Is this right? (..and pretty scary when you look at the impact of global population growth, irrespective of what we do to reduce industrial emissions!) Thanks for you replies.

A ball of radius 0.212m rolls along a horizontal table top with a constant linear speed of 5.51m/s. The ball rolls off the edge and falls a vertical distance of 2.17m before hitting the floor. What is the angular displacement of the ball while it is in the air?

(I am not using this for a homework question but am studying questions from a textbook. It would be great if I could learn how to approach this question, thanks!)

Does anyone know the exact rotational period?

I really want to know how to tell the bond length. I'm sure it's not like atomic radii, where you have two bonded atoms and see the distance from the two nuclei. In my book, it says that bond length is the average distance between two bonded atoms.

Also, Are double bonds stronger than single bonds?

Also, for resonance structures, for like SO2, why would there we more than one correct lewis structure. Can't you rotate the oxygens, so it's the same thing still?

If you could help, that would be awesome

An oil refinery is located on the north bank of a straight river that is 1 km wide. A pipeline is to be constructed from the refinery to storage tanks located on the south bank of the river 5 km east of the refinery. The cost of laying pipe is $500,000 per km over land to a point P on the north bank and $1,000,000 per km under the river to the tanks. To minimize the cost of the pipeline, how far from the refinery should P be located? (Give your answer correct to two decimal places.)

Can anyone tell me the secret to cracking open this puzzle? It is not like most other kakuro puzzles, which can be solved without guessing or trial and error? Is there some special strategy to solving this without trial and error or guessing?

NOTE that I am not interested in the final solution. I could get that if I want to. What I want is tips and strategies.
Thank you.

a sample of magniesium metal was allowed to react with excess hydrochloric acid solution. the gas liberated was collected over water at 23degrees celceius. The volume of gas collected was 47.1 mL and the atmospheric pressure in the lab was 744 mm Hg. the vapor pressure of the water at 23 degrees is 21.1 mm Hg.

a) write a ballanced equation for the reaction described above.

b) what volume in mL would the gas occupy if it was dryed and stored at STP

c)determinethe mass of magneisium metal in grams that would need to be reacted to liberate the quantity of the gas collected above

tell the equations used in your calculations.
