I'm amazed at some of these names I'm seeing in here. Doesn't anyone know that Bailey meant the outer wall of a castle or alternatively, its KITCHEN area?

Does anyone know that COY means quiet and shy? And that Coy lends itself to be mocked with coydog?

Why do people make up their kids' names? If people want something unique, remember that your KID WILL GROW UP TO BE AN INDIVIDUAL. Giving him/her an abnormal name will lead to a lifetime (a lifetime, people, 80 years!) of frustration (with trying to explain how to say their name because it defies established rules of pronunciation, for example) and possibly embarassment. (Venerea or Corona, anyone?)

Out of curiosity, what level of education does a person have who names their child after a beer?

Please tell me I'm not alone and that someone understands what I'm trying to say.

I like the names Moon and Juneau. I think they should have warmer first names. So I am thinking Margarita Moon and Martini Juneau. Be honest, tell me what you really think.

When we were pregnant with our daughter, we did not want to know the gender of our baby. We also didn't want to keep refering to it as "the baby". So we nick named her "Jr. Mint". We are now pregnant again, and are looking for a new nickname that is cute but not common. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks a bunch.

Am having a second child - don't know the gender (but will be finding out). I am interested in ideas for names that match well with the baby's older sister's name: Caroline. Some criteria (I know, I know):

-Classic, but not the in top 20 in popularity
-Easy to spell and pronounce (my hang up b/c my name isn't)
-If it also starts with C, can't be too cutesy a combo
-If it doesn't start w/ C, would prefer not to use an A or B name (yes, for some reason, my world would be off balance if my kids' names didn't chronologically fall in alpha order - feel free to mock me, gently).
-Am using a family last name as a middle name, so the first name has to be pretty solid to balance it out.
-Oddly, I like multiple syllables for a girl and one syllable for a boy.

Would love any ideas, especially from those of you who can navigate my hormone-driven criteria!!

We're having a little girl any day now. We are naming her "Rebekah" for her first name. We like "Rain" for a middle name, but we're not sure if it's too weird or hippie-ish. We like it because one meaning of rain is "blessing from above". We also kind of like "Renee". Which middle name would work best with Rebekah as a first name. Also, by the way, our last name has two syllabals.
Any other middle name recommendations to go with Rebekah? Thanks much!!!

The girl will be 1/2 Irish/Brit, 1/4 Mexican/French, and 1/4 Chinese. I'm hoping for her to have hazel blue eyes like my French grandfather or her Irish/Brit dad.
We are very mix in our family.
We are also thinking Elizabeth Keira (yes, we got that from POTC)?
But please be brutally honest about the name. Thank you!

I am 23 years old and my fiance is 45 years old. We been trying to conceive since June 2007. I had two miscarriages before I met him 1998 and 2001. I know they are important when talking to my ob/gyn.

My question is, should I talk to my doctor NOW since we been trying since June and I have had two miscarriages or should I wait until we been trying for 1 year?

I would love to use Bijou (bee-zhu/bee-juu, French for jewel), as it was my grandmother's name and we were very close.

However, whilst it means a great deal to me, I have been given quite the look by many friends when I tell them about the name -- according to them they've seen more dogs and cats with the name than actual people; thus, I've become hesitant.

Opinions?

But I am having a hard time coming up with something that I like. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. BTW - Clyde is by no means going to be the first name...
