Bonus - do you think any these names would sound silly on an ADULT male who wants to be taken seriously?

Fascinating - thanks for your responses! No, I'm not considering any of these names. Another YA poster asked the opposite question ("do you like these names"), and judging from the responses, a big bunch of people (mostly women) think "Coy", "Keane", "Oakley" and "Braylon" are just adorable names.

I could see all of these names EXCEPT Kevin, Chuck, Aaron, Ken and Zack leading to bullying. I also think any of the names except the 5 I listed would be silly for an adult male.

Oakley? I mean honestly... they make great sunglasses, but a CEO? I think not.

And don't even get me started on Coy...

Firstly, I think you mean Potential victim. And in reality, the name, while it does help, isn't usually the reason a kid gets picked on. It's usually the "outcast" kid, new to the school, poorer than the rest, different from the rest, etc. That said ...

Coy, Oakley and maybe Braylon would more than likely be teased.

Kai - in Hawaii, this is often a nick name for the name Ikaika, so it's not an unusual name for the locals there.

As for the other names - they sound like pretty normal names, rather average.

I feel Coy and Oakley are a bit odd on a grown man - but the rest are fine. Most men named Richard end up going by Rick or Dick ... men named Charles get called Chuck. And they could be high profile lawyers, or CEO of a conglomeration. Nick names happen.

This is my list from least likely to most (p.s. my favorite is Zane)
Zack, Aaron, Kevin, Bryce, Ken, and Chuck are all about the same they are all popular therefore someone else will most likely have that name too.
Zane reminds me of a manly man someone not to be messed with.
Oakley and Braylon are ones that could go either way depending on the child.
Coy, Kai, and Keane are names that I believe would give a child the most problem.

As an adult though I don't think your name matters as much as what you bring to the table if you are serious I believe you will be taken seriously.

Hope this helps

Kai, Keane, Oakley, and perhaps Zane. Especially Oakley will be made fun of.

Braylon, Bryce, Coy, Kai, Keane, Oakley, and Zane will all sound ridiculous on an adult. The rest are fine.

I would say Coy, Chuck, Kai, and Oakley would get made fun of. I like Braylon, Bryce, Zane and Zack. My favorite of all of them is definitely Braylon....that is a cute name for a boy, but also strong for a man.

In this day and age I think the bullied kids would be.....

Coy, Oakley and Chuck (and possibly Keane)

Names that would sound silly on a grown man would be.....

Braylon, Zane, Coy, Kai, Oakley

So for me that leaves.....

Bryce, Kevin, Ken, Aaron and Zack - but I would opt out of Kevin and Ken because they sound too oldish and not my style -

So again we are left with Bryce, Aaron and Zack. I think those three are the most respectable names for a little boy and grown man. Personally I would go with Aaron!

Best of luck
