I am 23 years old and my fiance is 45 years old. We been trying to conceive since June 2007. I had two miscarriages before I met him 1998 and 2001. I know they are important when talking to my ob/gyn.

My question is, should I talk to my doctor NOW since we been trying since June and I have had two miscarriages or should I wait until we been trying for 1 year?

Please do not judge my situation. We been together since I was 18 years old and lived together majority of those years. We do plan on getting married soon.

I would talk to your Dr now, its certainly not going to hurt and he/she may have some really good advice or will send you off for testing. Good luck I know some times it can be disheartening but stick with it and hopefully soon you'll be holding your little angel in your arms!!!

I would recommend making a "pre-conception" appointment with your doctor. This would be a good opportunity to discuss your previous miscarriages, as well as an opportunity for the doctor to explain what you need to know BEFORE conception so that you and your future baby are as healthy as possible.

As someone who has been dealing with infertility for the past 4 years, I can tell you that most likely, the doctor will not do anything prior to the one year point. But, it will probably make you feel better to make the appointment and see what the doctor has to say about it. Just remember, there is only about a 20% chance of conceiving each month, and the average healthy couple will get pregnant within 12 - 18 months. Try not to worry at this point (easier said than done, I know).

Good luck!

You are young. Why are you trying to conceive before you are married? What if he skips out on you? Marry first, then move in, then have the kids. Protect yourself and your future children and have a marital contract in place. It's a lot harder to skip out when all of his friends, family, etc. have attended his wedding and are there for both of you as a committed couple after you make your public vows.

Don't worry about your miscarriages. They were a long time ago and you are young and the body will try very hard to get you pregnant. Any chance he has gotten a vasectomy in the past and is just not telling you?

If he says he is going to marry you, then the first thing to do is pick a date...and then announce that date to your parents, his parents, and all your friends. Then throw your energies into planning the wedding. If he tries to back out of any of that, then he never meant to stay for the long run anyway. If he means to stay with you for the long run, and to be there to help raise the kids, then he will not object to picking the date (soon, since you want to conceive soon) and getting married first...before conception. You'll find out soon enough about his true intentions if you insist on picking a wedding date.

Good luck!

You had a miscarriage at age 14? Good grief.

Talk to your regular gyn now, but they will probably make you wait to see a specialist until you have been trying a year due to your age.

Do whatever it takes to put your mind at rest. The more relaxed you are the more chance you have of concieving.

Good luck for the future x

I would talk to your docter now. That could prevent you from having another miscarriage.
