Asaiah is a fairly obscure Biblical name, right? And Nineveh is an ancient city.

I think Asaiah is likely to be confusing with the more popular Isaiah. It also looks like it could be a mash-up of Asa and Isaiah. I'm just not sure about this one - it's interesting, but I'm not sure it works very well in real life.

I'm on board with using Biblical, ancient and mythological place names for given names. But Nineveh makes me wonder - what would the nickname be? Nin? Ninny? Veh? Nev might work, but it's not obvious. So again, it *is* cool, but I'm not sure if it would wear well on an actual human being. :)

Good searching, though - I've never met anyone actually named Asaiah or Nineveh, but both names have history and roots.

I like both of them, but I would only use them for pets. I have a list of names I love to pieces, but wouldn't really work for a person to grow up with, like Algernon and Boudicca. These names seem to fall into that category.

Asaiah sounds cool, but it looks too much like a misspelling of Isaiah for my taste. It might be a very valid name, but I don't know, and most people wouldn't, either. I also wanted to say it more like "az-AYE-uh".

I don't know anything about the name Asaiah, but Nineveh was the name of an ancient Babylonian city. I think it's an intellectual sort of name, bordering on nerdy. Not that that's a bad thing, because I want to name a dog Boudicca, after the Irish warrior queen!

The only reason I don't like them is because when I initially saw them I had no idea how to pronounce them - and I'm sure others are on the same page

I like old fashioned names. They are now the unique names. You have to remember that the child has to be able to sound it out and spell it at school. Not to mention a life long task of correcting people who mispronounce her name.

One should be able to look at a name and easily be able to pronounce them. Both of these names are difficult to pronounce--
