Baby Names - October 2007

[Selected]: All categories Pregnancy & Parenting Baby Names

Not pregnant yet, but hopefully soon. I am looking for a baby girls name to go with my daughters, Amanda Leila, Alexa (Ally) Madison, and Jenna Ashlee.

So far my husband and I have come up with:
Myla Avery/Sophia
Stella Analea (pronounced Anna-Leah)
Sophia (nn-Sophie) Catherine (great-grandmother)

And others that are possible considerations for the future: Skyla (like Skyler), Nola, Nora, Lila, Lyla,
Analea, and my husband likes Agatha (Greek) with a nickname Aggie, which I am really not that fond of, but who knows what could happen.

Is Jae a Korean name for a girl? Also is Mae a Korean name? If it is, what gender is it? What are some double names that include Jae? How would Jae be pronounced? Is it pronounced like Jay? What are some Korean girl names that start with J or M and how would you spell/pronounce them? What's the Korean translation of them? Please post. Thanks.

We are having a baby in 31/2 months. We know it is a boy. We are having a hard time figuring out a name for the boy. My name is Casey and my dad's name is Leon. Her granddad's name is Leon. we have been leaning towards Matthew Leon Parker. What do you think? It is my first child and she doesn't really like the name Casey.

I can't stand it when I read comments on here calling names cute! Do these people not realize that at some point the baby will grow up and will probably not want to be considered cute anymore? Does this bother anyone else? And before you start, I don't need your opinion that I'm taking things too seriously or need to get a life, etc. I've heard that all before. I just want to know if anyone else gets annoyed by people who only consider the "cuteness" of a name and neglect to think about the long run.

I'm not pregnant just thinking.

Not sure about how my hub actually feels about this name but..

For a girl:

Natalie Jean -
I wanted to use Nora but he doesnt like it, I wanted Nora because its a varient of my sisters name Noreen. And Jean is my middle name, passed down from my aunt and grandma. I wanted to appreciate how close me and my sister were, so i used an N name and my middle name.

For a boy he picked the first name (wont change the spelling so do NOT ask us to)

Jaxon Isaac -

I like Isaac, he likes Jaxon. But I would probably call him Jack instead of Jax. But like I said do ask to change the spelling.

If you want to know what we would name our 2nd, ill probably post that later.

After perusing the Baby Names q's for a couple of days, I got to wondering how people in the working world might judge a woman who had some of the trendier names that seem to be very popular. My study was extremely non-scientific, and I mean no offense to people that have these names. But check out these reactions to the names "Kayleigh," "Kylie" and "Cyndee". Here's how "Kayleigh" and "Kylie" fared when they tried to get a management level job: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AkGZ_yscHwNCMF2oG_pxpaXty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071011081824AAHBSpt
If you believe these answerers, "Savannah" may be slotted for a particular kind of "career." http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlvXfBjW7hP2IQ.569BTxNPty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20071011091216AAzUsmH
Finally, poor "Cyndee" can't catch a break in the office:

Matteo is an Italian boys name. It means gift of God and is pronounced mah-teh-oh. I thought it sounded like a masculine name...I want a masculine sounding name for when hes older but something cute to call him when hes little, so I would call him Matty when hes little. Do you like the name??
I also dont like Matt for short...do you think people would stick with calling him Matteo? or I was thinking even Teo for short would be kinda cool when hes older.
And what are some good middle names to go with Matteo?
