We have been talking about names... and I told him these are the names I like.. he said no to all of them...I mean, I know they aren't "Emily, Ashley, or Katie" but I don't want one of those names... I like these..

I like all the names, except for Harper Grace. I like the name Harper, but not paired with Grace. IMO another thing you should consider when naming your children is the spelling of the name. I think Emmalin, although it's beautiful, would provide frustration for your child learning to spell her own name and dealing with other people trying to spell it as she goes through life. I had a very unusual, difficult to spell, difficult to say name, and I hated it so much I changed it when I became an adult. That upset my mother, but she didn't have to live with my birth name the way I did.

Love the name Sophie...am thinking about naming my little one Sophie Grace, there's nothing wrong with Sophie as far as I can see. Gabriella is also a pretty name.
Can kind of understand why he said no to Emery and Harper, as they don't sound like names to be honest(not trying to be hurtful) but can you imagine shouting the name 'Harper' or 'Emery' across the playground, without people mistaking her for a boy or an alien??

Harper, Emery and Emmalin are awful. Gabriella and Sophie are beautiful, though, so stick with those. You could maybe get away with Emma Lynn, but that's kind of overused now so I don't know why you'd want to.

I don't like any of them but Harper is by far the worst one. Gabriella, Sophie, and Grace are toooo popular, why I don't know. And Emery and Emmalin are just strange. Traditional names can be so pretty and respectable. Give you daughter a smart, strong name.

I love Gabriella. It is very pretty and has a lot of options for nicknames...Gabri, Gabby, Gab, Briella, Brielle, Bree, Ella, Elle, Elly, Bella, Belle. Sophie is also very cute. Emery is ok, but not my favorite. I like Emmalin, but not spelled that way. For some reason it reminds of a prescription medication the way it is spelled. I would go with Emma Lynne, Emmalyn, or Emalynn. I love Grace, but not sure about Harper. How about Emma Lynne Grace? If he likes Emily, would he compromise on the spelling? Maybe you could make it two first names, like Emma Leigh, Emma Lea, or Emma Lee. That is similar to Emmalin, but still pronounced Emily. If you don't like using two first names, you could spell it Emalie, Emalee, Emaleigh, Emmalie, Emmalee, Emmaleigh, EmmaLea... There are a lot of options. The same can be done with Ashley. I really like the name Ashlynn. I'm not sure if he would like that, though. Goodluck! I hope he comes around. I really like most of those names.

Perhaps if you posted some of the names of his choosing we could better assist you in giving ideas?
Your chosen names are very nice, and some are unique, and perhaps her is more "classic" minded in regards to names. If that is true, then what if you chose one of your (or his) names as a first, and the other person's as a middle? There has to be a compromise. Perhaps he doesn't like the spelling?
Gabrielle (a) - beautiful
Sophie (a) - beautiful, if a bit over used
Emery - I don't particularly like this one myself, makes me think of emery boards for my nails.
Emmalin - Emmalyn - again pretty name.
Harper Grace - while it does flow as a name, I'm not thrilled with Harper.

Emmalin - too made up, Emmeline is nice though (emma-line or emma-leen)
Harper Grace - trendy
The only names I like are Grace and Sophie. Sophie Grace is cute!

I really like Gabriella,Emmalin and Emery!They're really pretty and I think you should give the whole naming thing a rest with your husband.My Mom and I picked out the perfect name for her baby boy-Jacob Aaron.But when she told my Dad about it he said he didn't like it.She tryed other names and when she figured out that he would say no to everything she suggested she gave it a rest.About a week before my lil bro was born my Mom started making suggestions again but this time in front of my Dad's mom.And guess what he finally agreed to?Jacob Aaron!!So just chilla nd see if maybe you can find variations of those...well....common names.Emery is a good one if he likes Emily.Maybe you could try Emma Lee.
