I love Catherine -- it's actually my Confirmation name. Kate and Katie are with a 'K', but the full name is spelled with a 'C.'

It's nice, love the nickname Kate. Katherine Ava or Nicole Katherine is cute.

I think Katherine is a beautiful name. It has so many different nicknames, and it would fit a girl of any age. I really don't like names that are little girl like(Katie as the name). I like names that can be shorten to Katie.

I love Katherine and Kathryn, but hate the nicknames Kathy, Kath, Kat, etc. If there were a way to ensure no nickname would ever be used, I would definitely choose one of those for a girl.

it's my name and I hate it.....it was very popular during the late 1950's and early 1960's. The teacher would say "Katherine" and 5 kids would answer "yes?" Same thing at my job now, we ended up going by our last names to end the confusion.
(I just happen to spell it the 'different' way, so it's even worse since I always have to correct someone's spelling)

I don't but it's probably because i have met a few Katherine's that I don't like & that is influencing me. I like Kate or Cate though.

My Middle name is Kathryn. I feel it is a very "neutral" middle name. I LOVE IT! Just don't call her Kathy or Katie. Katherine is Nobel and endearing.

I adore Katherine.
I'm partial to Katharine, as in Hepburn, or Catherine with a C. Actually, I quite like Catharine, and I rarely favor variant spellings.
It's a classic that offers many options for a nickname beyond Cathy and Katie. (Kari, Kay, Kitty, Ketty, Cat, Katya, Cattie, Rina, Trina, Trinny.)
