...or is practicality the name of the game? Nowadays, countless events and situations are presented in the news / media showing the prevalence of corruption, crime, bribery among others. Are people still willing to fight for what they believe in or money / power much more important?

I've been summoned and I really have no excuse not to show up or get out of it. Will the judge ask me direct questions when I'm there? Will they actually use me as a juror or will they make me fill paper work before? So basically, I have no idea what goes on. Thanks in advance!

People want things to change yet so many people aren't registered to vote. It takes less time to vote than it does to sign up for an e-mail account on Yahoo.

This man is respondible for the deaths of 10 of thousands of Native Americans through The Trail of Tears, "relocating" them to an enviorment with no food or water and practically no resources. Not to mention there were camps that they were kept in that were riddled with disease and freezing tempertures. It makes me sick to see him representing America on the 20 dollar bill. Does anyone else feel this way?

This supposedly to help pay for children's health care? I don't have children. Also no coverage of my own. Aren't taxes to be shared by everyone? Why should smokers (the majority of which are not well-to -do) pay for everyone's health care!? Say what you will about the dangers of smoking, I'm 39 & only I can decide what is right for me!
If this proposal passes, it's not going to deter any existing smokers to quit! Even if it did, then there'd be less people to pay the tax- sounds a bit like a self-defeating logic.
As it stands right now, a 22,000 large group of people would be needed to become "new smokers" in order to make this work! More self-defeating logic! I urge anyone who believes America is not a Communist Nation to write or call their representatives & congressmen about this! If a $1/gallon of milk tax were proposed, people would be up in arms! I don't drink milk, BTW. But why should I care if those who do have to pay for government health care programs?

In the news, all I ever hear about is what is wrong w/ America. It is rare to hear about someone supporting the/any president. I wonder what happened the the sense of patriotism that was so prevelent during both WW's? Do you still appreciate living in America & what it stands for? What can be done to boost patriotism like it was afer 9-11?
