Okay, I know you salute the flag for the Pledge of Allegiance, but what about when they sing the national anthem? Some people stay saluting and some do not. I was under the impression that only service men saluted during the anthem, does anyone know, and have a source to back it up? Thanks

Lets say I wanted to protest a ferry docking in a nearby port in Maui (the superferry)....

Why am I not allowed to carry out my peaceful protest on the dock? Oh yeah, they have closed off the area and surrounding harbor in case of "protest action and civil disobedience."

Ummm, this is censoring you guys and its against the constitution.

When is the revolution again?

I am a 12th grade government teacher at a public high school in Los Angeles. I am taking 18-20 students on an academic trip to Washington DC this spring, and the cost is $1600 per student. The students that attend my school are considered financially underprivledged and can not pay their own tuition. I need to raise aprox. $30,000 by the end of February, and so far we only have $1,200. We are doing what we can by selling candy, and holding silent acutions and raffles at school, but we need help! The students have sent letters asking local businesses to "invest in their funture" by buying shares of stock at $10 a share, but we have not received any response yet.
Does anyone know of any companies or businesses that are willing to help my students?
The goal of the trip is to help my students gain a better understanding of our political system, and in turn become more politically active. This trip will change their lives!

I have just been summoned for jury duty for a trial that says it is expected to last 30 days. Here in B.C., missing work for jury duty is considered unpaid leave, so employers are not required to pay wages for days missed. However, I have heard that although not required by law, some employers will pay an employee's wages for the time they miss.

What are some other peoples' experience with having to leave work for jury duty, and what would be a reasonable way to request compensation from my employer for lost wages? For example, will they get a tax break if they compensate me while I'm gone, etc?

Thanks.

Hi, I am a sophmore in high school, and I want to know how I could start a Republican's club at my high school. Membership will not be an issue- most students are Republican. And we have club time almost every week, will clubs from the gardening club to guitar club to Jr. Civitans, so clubs are in! But I just don't know how to get started. I think I should get a teacher sponsor first? And is there any Republican organization I could contact to get some ideas? What would you do? (And no answers saying that I should start a Democrats club, please!!)

Oh, I know this is a lot, but I have another similar question. Since this a Republican club, it will probably attract a LOT of Christians. I am not one, but i don't mind them.. But how can I keep conversations from being completely centered around religion? I want the main focus to be on politics. Thank you!!

In countries like Britain and Canada Healthcare is free but there are waiting lists. Some people have to wait as long as 10 years for their time to get their operation. In Canada there is a case where one woman had to get a surgery in 3 months or she would die. When she pleaded to the all loving Canadian Healthcare system they told her that the best they could do was put her on the list for her operation in 3 YEARS!!! She was going to die in three months!! She heard that she could go over the border and have operations done in the United States faster. (Which does not have a healthcare system) She came over the border and had the operation done that weekend!!! I think our hospitals that we have should get a round of applause. In Britain over 150,000 lives have been lost already to waiting lists. DON'T LET THIS HAPPEN TO AMERICA!
