A very serious situation is developing in Russia and no one in the USA should take it lightly. Russia is heavily armed and they can still cause trouble if they were so inclined. Putin is becoming a dictator and wants to return Russia to where it was under Stalin. He wants power, money, trade and everything that a great nation should have. I do not mind this return to power but as a Democracy on our side. It doesn't look like this is the way he is heading. Very dangerous situation for the world.

In your opinion? Do you live in Russia? Do you work in Russia? Have you ever been to Russia? I believe Americans are very easy to mislead. (Bush was revoted into office, point taken) You see, the western corporations (you know, those who fund the campaigns of your politicians) despise the honorable Vladimir Putin because they can no longer exploit the nations resources with him in office. When Yeltsin ran the nation he literally handed the nations gas reserves over with no bid contracts to British Petroleum and others. When the Honorable Vladimir Putin came to power the free for all came to an abrupt end. Also, when the Soviet Union collapsed (which was inevitable as soon as ethnic Russians became the minority) Soviet military hardware was shifted eastward away from the frontier of western europe with the understanding that the west would treat them with relative respect and keep out of the internal affairs of former Soviet Republics. What happened? The United States immediately went to work with their expansion. They seized the opportunity to usher in Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, and others into NATO. Why? If the Americans had friendly intentions toward the Russian nation did they immediately seize on the opportunity to draft former Soviet States into an organization that was intended to be a barrier to Soviet expansion for the last half century. Their are many, many ,other issues as well. I know from having previously attended school in the U.S. that Americans are very fond of what you would call catch phrases. This is one reason why few Americans are not able to analyze a situation in an unbiased manner. Russian people like Americans for the most part. I also believe the Honorable Vladimir Putin has the best of intentions for all nations. Peace allows nations to prosper. War destroys prosperity. (Take one look at Iraq) The Russian people for the first time in nearly a century are having their daily lives vastly improved. Children are now going to school with shoes on their feet. Citizens are allowed to keep most of their pay. (Unlike many Americans) The government does run some of the media, that is true. In most western countries you have 6,8,or ten men that control most of the electronic and print media. What is the difference? Either way the news is tightly controlled, the only difference is that Russians understand this whereas Americans are unaware of it.

Putin has improved things for everyday Russians and they support him. Bush has done everything in his power to hurt relations with Russia and piss them off. It is a very bad situation for the US. More of the same from the inept adminstration.
