Many are from well to do middle class backgrounds. They fly to poverty stricken areas to photograph starving kids so that they can sell stories and photos to make themselves richer and to make a name for themselves. After a time they slink back to middle class suburbia thousands of miles away from the people they exploited and to whome they never give a further thought.

So the question is. Are they modern crusaders for good or parasites looking to make a fast buck on the suffering of others.

It seems that the Gaza Strip leaders will not allow its people to live in peace, but have to keep lobbing rockets into Israel.

Israel took a big chance in a move toward peace by giving this land back, and what does it get? More and more attacks from close range. Just as was feared.

Now that the civilians are being hurt; should the US stand idly by? Should we bleed Israel for being nice, taking a chance, and finding out it did not work, that HAMAS is more belligerent than before...give them an inch and they try for a mile?

Should we help Israel to wipe out the HAMAS forces so they cannot disturb the peace that Israel hoped the concession would bring?

Should we force Israel to give the Gaza people, including HAMAS, all the supplies they desire, and allow them to continue the semi-guided rocket attacks on civilians as well as military targets.

Should they stop checking for suicide bombers?

Curious what the thoughts are out there.

You can be forgiven for not knowing that the 8th March is ‘International Woman’s Day’. I didn’t know either, just stumbled onto it. Which goes to show just how little woman’s matters are promoted. There are 1,617 websites currently linking their site and 49 different countries participating. IWD celebrates the collective power of women past, present and future. Many progressive global corporations clearly understand the importance of supporting women’s advancement. When you think about it it’s disturbing to realise that the 21st Century is still a male dominated culture that leaves women feeling overlooked, excluded or intimidated. Man’s dominance is accepted, otherwise, why the discrimination?

israel is a little p-ed off at the new intel.report that the u.s. has come out with.saying its wrong and iran is a huge threat to them.especially when their leader stated that israel needed to disappear.israel thinks the report is wrong and the u.s. intel.is weak.they say they have backed the u.s. in irans threat of nuclear progress to make weapons.i thought israel had an elite, powerful army,if so why dont they step up to the plate and do something if they feel threatened by iran?or do you think they will in a matter of time if the u.s. backs off iran?i know the u.s. has not changed its view on iran, but the report hasn't helped either.

A UN investigator strongly suspects the CIA of using torture on inmates at Guantanamo Bay - suggesting many were not being prosecuted to keep the abuse from emerging at trial.
Martin Scheinin made the comments on Thursday after he visited the Cuban detention centre last week and attended a hearing of Osama bin Laden's former driver.
The special rapporteur on human rights said US officials had told him that of the roughly 300 detainees currently held at Guantanamo, 80 were expected to face military trials for suspected crimes.
