Not only the flowers gone.
Decode this lyrics " Where has all the young men gone" too.
Look in the real world.
How the graveyards were running out of space too.
The blunders and slip-ups with human errors in making a mess with all "The young one" surviving and running on batteries with shorten life-cycles.
Luke 9.55-56
Without being aware of the mess of their own creation in own backyards.
While "The young one" were living in misery like "Candle in the wind"with total loss of our creator's universal gifts of life vital for the survival and advancement of living human kind.
Luke 6.39-40,41-45,46-49
Decode this lyrics " I have a dream"
While still blindly following and happily singing "For he's a jolly good fellow" in following the Piped piper's tune of "My way" with the betrayal of Judas.
Without being aware of the mess created in own baclyards.
With cheap-skate glory of idol worshiping the dead Mummy of failure and horrors of the past as success in not worshiping God in climbing up the coconut trees and still look green with lost sense of direction and purpose of life.
Luke 9.60
What do you think?

I think it was written about war in general. Not just one specific war. Not 100% sure though.
