There is currently a gas like odor covering Manhattan, Rockefeller Center, and Greenwich Village. There is no sign of elevated natural gas levels or gas leaks. What do you think it is?

I think some silly lab worker accidentally broke a large flask of thiols, that's the stuff added into natural gas to give it it's distinct odor, and is now afraid to admit it.

One of my chemistry professors admitted that when he was a grad student he broke a flask of thiols and then made the mistake of opening a window and a whole block of Philadelphia thought there was a major gas leak and started evacuating. In the end everyone was mad at him.

I just am having trouble understanding, not judging. Everyone has their own opinion, and they are entitled to it.

My opinion is that they did the right thing. If they put him in jail, someone would break him out one way or the other.

They would have had to take him to another country, which would put a target on their back, or bring him to the
US.
And then who would have had to pay for his room and board, food and medical necessities?
You guessed it, all the good hard working tax payers.
Please don't cry for him, he is where he deserves to be. Dead, or in hell which ever you beleive in.
