I just am having trouble understanding, not judging. Everyone has their own opinion, and they are entitled to it.

My opinion is that they did the right thing. If they put him in jail, someone would break him out one way or the other.

They would have had to take him to another country, which would put a target on their back, or bring him to the
US.
And then who would have had to pay for his room and board, food and medical necessities?
You guessed it, all the good hard working tax payers.
Please don't cry for him, he is where he deserves to be. Dead, or in hell which ever you beleive in.

Good question. We should about the answer carefully, legally and without prejudge.I think the reasons why people upset are the following:
1.The existence of US occupation in Iraq which had created the court(not Iraqi people).
2.Illegal and unfair Judges.
3.Defense lawyers did not take their opportunity to defend Saddam.
4.Statements from Iraqi Prime Minster and Prs. Bush that Saddam should be executed before the end of 2006 for political purposes (they ordered the court to execute Saddam before end2006!!!)
6.The uncivilized way in which Saddam had
been executed in which Arabs and Muslims had been insulted and provocateur.
7.The violence and tension expected to occur in Iraq after the execution and the expected high number of victims.

It is natural to have some level of pity upon watching anyone hang, even a monster like Saddam. But it was a fitting punishment for a leader that killed up to a million of his own people in one way or another. It was also the decision of the Iraqi people via their Democratically elected govt.

Some of the people who are outraged were not outraged by CNN showing the sniper killing of our own soldiers, so in that case they are Liberal Hypocrites.

everyone in iraq is upset because the iraqi government didn't let him out so the people could get their hands on him and give him what he should have gotten
i.e. toture him before he was killed like he did to his people
btw
not all the people are upset
to say everyone is a fallacy
