When i answered the question and even posted a link proving my answer was correct? Is it just ignorance? Or you just can't handle the truth?

If you keep getting thumbs down when you don't deserve them, it means some troll is stalking you and deliberately giving you "thumbs down" just to be mean. Ignore them. We all get some of that.

I give "thumbs down" if they have made a stupid (e.g. racist or sexist) comment in their answer or it's obvious that they have no idea what they're talking about. For example, someone puts "I don't know" then I give them a thumbs down because they're wasting our time and yahoo space with a worthless answer.

It was supposed to be a way of avoiding having a dozen answers that say the exact same thing. If I read a question that is interesting and see that someone already said what I was going to say, I give them a "thumbs up." then I dont' answer and take up space saying what's already been said.

A thumbs down can mean two things. It can either mean that someone didn't like the question or answer or it can mean someone doesn't like the person who posted the question or answer. There are trolls who will give a "thumbs down" to every answer you post if they don't like you. Even if your question is just like the person's below you, a troll with "thumbs down" you and "thumbs up" the other person.

If you have say 3 "thumbs up" and the person asking the question chose you as "best answer" then you get 3 bonus points for having "thumbs up." I don't think the thumbs down has any consequences other than the fact it will be "hidden" from people who have designated they only want to see answers with ratings that have no "thumbs down" or less than 5 "thumbs down." So I don't really care when people give me a "thumbs down."

it could be a number of things. The types of patterns I have noticed that get you thumbs down are
1) you ask a question that either isn't a question at all, or is very biased in some way
2) someone disagrees with you on a controversial topic
3) someone is trolling your posts (cyber-stalking)

Either way, don't worry about it: thumbs-down and thumbs-up are intended as features that can either confirm what people say, or get them to thinkg twice about what they have said. Unfortunately, most people give thumbs-up or thumbs-down from personal bias and emotion, and the ratings aren't always good indications someone gave your post a great deal of thought.

Having scanned your questions, I am guessing it's because you deserved it for posting nonsensical, obnoxiously worded questions, and answering the same way.

Sometime a thumbs down is for disagreement, but I give people a thumbs up even when I disagree if the answer if given seriously and with good reasoning. I give all idiots and jerks the thumbs down. I refuse to say which category you fit into.

That happens to me a lot and I have over 50 % best answers. I agree that some people are just being ignorant and would rather vote thumbs down, maybe thinking it will make their answer appear 'better'. Who really knows what goes on in some peoples minds.

I have no idea what the question was or even what your answer was. If you are looking for someone to truely rate your response, then write an article to the editor of a newpaper. Otherwise, realize these are the same goofy people you encounter every day and they don't have much sense anyway, let alone be able to tell the difference between what makes sense and what doesn't. Thank you and GOD bless.

Hmmm... There are a lot of links that don't prove anything you know. Don't know enough about what you wrote originally to have an opinion on the subject though.

The truth is a good thing and I don't know what you answers have been but maybe your delivery was to harsh or maybe they think you are arrogant. Might try being tactful in your delivery. Hope this helps and good luck.

Since you didn't provide a link to your post, I can't even guess at an answer. what you considered proof some one else may see as propaganda.
