I am reading lots of Q&A about Israel rights, what about the Palestinians rights as humans living in the same planet under the same rules. I did some search to get some info about the recent conflict, I was surprised to find out that Israel is the only occupier left on this planet and the Palestinians are the only people living under occupation! It is very troubling to me that my Tax money is going to the wrong side! Aren’t we fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan ….etc. to promote freedom & support freedom fighters around the world?

How many of you think Syria or Iran will become directly involved in the latest war breaking out with Israel and Lebanon, I've heard it was an Iranian missile that hit The Israeli war ship.

Will there be an all out regional war involving Syria , Iran or possibly other nations?

I don't see either side backing down off its rhetoric or actions. If we side too much with Israel, we're damned in Iraq and Afghanistan because most Arabs hate Israel. If we side too much with the Palestinians we'll lose a key ally. Israel is in no danger of losing any war, so why get involved at all?

We can't force people to play nicely, and what place do we have to tell them what Israel or the Palestinians/Lebanese (or Syria or Iran or any other nation for that matter) what to do in the first place?

Stay safe, and God grant you mercy and protection from the raining death being wrought by Israel. This American wants you to know I hope you are all well, and that I hope Israel see's there errors, and stops killing your innocents, and pays to re-build what they have destroyed. Peace.

I understand this is a sensitive topic, but I see a lot of people trying to draw parallels between the current conflict in the Middle East and various hypothetical conflicts between Western nations. Some of the comparisons do not take the specifics of Hezbollah into account, and I wonder how much that undermines their arguments.

So, in as reasoned and civil a manner as possible (I know...I shouldn't get my hopes up), could we please come up with an accurate, unbiased understanding of what exactly Hezbollah is and where they fit in when compared with other military and political organizations?

Answers which cite repurable sources are highly encouraged. Emotional screeds and sub-literate, jingoist invective are not. Am I being too optimistic here? Please don't disappoint me.

Syria must stop Hizbollah activities and arrange release of IDF troops, according to Israel, or face a "devastating offensive", or so reports from the Middle East are indicating at this hour.
