I understand this is a sensitive topic, but I see a lot of people trying to draw parallels between the current conflict in the Middle East and various hypothetical conflicts between Western nations. Some of the comparisons do not take the specifics of Hezbollah into account, and I wonder how much that undermines their arguments.
So, in as reasoned and civil a manner as possible (I know...I shouldn't get my hopes up), could we please come up with an accurate, unbiased understanding of what exactly Hezbollah is and where they fit in when compared with other military and political organizations?
Answers which cite repurable sources are highly encouraged. Emotional screeds and sub-literate, jingoist invective are not. Am I being too optimistic here? Please don't disappoint me.

They are the cleanest freedom fighting movement ..and the most legitimate!
Their agenda is against Isreal and its occupation of Muslim land!
They have not faltered from their stand..
they have condmened 9/11...7/7 and continue to condemn whats wrong and unislamic..including the beheadings of foreigners in Iraq...
They have rejected to participate in Iraq on the pretext of Jihad..and have stated that they are only their to defend their state form Isreal.
they are politically legitimate as well..and run lots of schools, hospitals and communtiy centres for welfare...
Isreal has tkaen out its frustration on the civillians which is utterly disgusting...
The conflict involved soldeirs..it would have remained that way...
Hezbollah has no relation with al-Qaida or any other such orgainsationand deems them as terorrists!

The Hezbollah is a terrorist organization that was responsible for the bombing of the American Marine base in Lebanon. It has also perpetrated many other terrorist attacks. This group is a threat to everyone. The only people who think they are not are the other terrorist and Iran and Syria who have supplied and support them for years. I wonder why the never supported the Hamas? Goggle them and you'll get their history.

Legitimacy is in the eyes of the beholder. There are plenty of crackers that miss the days of the Klan.
In order to subscribe to murderous, racist, behavior; it requires a certain psychosis that causes one to be able to inflict unconscionable suffering without remorse. Unfortunately, we are seeing more and more sociopaths revered as heros.
Sorry, I don't see heros and villains. I see murderers and human beings. And there aren't too many pairs of clean hands on any side.
