We are going to relocate to New York. The work area will be around City Colledge of New York and Comlumbia University. Anyone has any suggestions about which area to rent for an affordable apartment? Nearby or about 30 minutes commute one-way are both ok, I tried Craigslist but get very confused about the location names ...

Also, shall we bring our cars to New York? We have two now. Shall we bring one or none of them? Just a bit not sure whether it is ok to go to work or buy grocery without a car...

I was employed through a temp service for contract-to-hire work at a call center. After 5 months of work (which was 2 months past the date they said I would be hired), I recieved a call one night saying the "assignment" had ended. Since then, it's been a total run-around with the temp service. They won't return my calls or emails; it took over a week to get my last paycheck, now they're withholding my personal items. I've asked they mail them to me, but have not recieved any kind of acknowlegment of my request or my items, and no one's returning my messages. Should I contact a lawyer or go through the department of labor?

I am 33 years old and I live in Southern Cali and I am sick and tired of it. I want to move to Las Vegas and start a new life but I am not sure how to go about it. I have $20000 saved up in a CD and I am currently unemployed due to losing my banking job in southern cali. Even though , I have a little bit of money saved, money is extremely tight right now and I dont have connections in Vegas for work. Im thinking about just moving there by renting an cheap apartment and then looking for some work but Im afraid what if I dont get a job right away. Plus I have rent to pay. I tried to apply for jobs online through various website but companies wont even interview you unless you are local in Vegas. How can I relocate there and make this work. Is this a good idea or should I stay where Im at right now which is Living with family. I am not married and have no one to support but myself .

It is hard for me to beleive that in my small town in the lower part of michigan is earning $600.00 wk. Someone told me this the other day. I think a person would have to be working in these factories an awful long time to make that kind of money. If this is the case I will go to work in one of these factories. Does anyone know this to be true?

I want to buy good authentic Prada leather dress shoes. I went to a few places in New York city such as DSW and Century 21, etc. They have many shoes on sale. But I found a problem with this type of shopping experience: whenever there is a good deal, it will already be grabbed by somebody else many days ago and it will wait for me to get it. The result was either lack of good deals on good designer brands, or lack of availability of suitable sizes for me. Thus I want to try the alternative method -- online shopping. I am specifically looking for good deals for Prada leather dress shoes(professional and formal). I browsed and googled and found quite a bunch of online shops with a variety of prices and models. I have a friend who wants to use his existing phone, but change carriers. He is in Bridgeton, NJ, and I am looking for answers SPECIFIC to this location. He has AT&T, but was told by an AT&T rep that we are in one their most porrly-served areas, so we can rule out AT&T. We can rule out Verizon, which I think it the BEST, because he does not have a compatible phone. This leaves Nextel, T-Mobile, Sprint and anything else you can think of.

If you have experience with any of these plans in Cumberland county, New Jersey, please share your opinion.
