I have tried Oxy products but they don't seem to work. The carpet cleaner guy was able to get some of them out, but they are now yellow in color. Any suggestions?

It seems like it's got to be simple, I've done it before. Now I can't find the instructions, can't figure it out and can't find any information on tightening the collet on the internet.

I can press the button that stops the collet from rotating, but even with a wrench I can't seem to turn the collet to tighten it with the button pressed.

Tool guys, help!

my wife gets up first, takes a 10 minute shower as normal and i have minimal hot water when i get in 10 minutes later.
this morning, i didn't turn the cold knob at all and the water coming out of the hot pipe was luke-warm.

i know that the solution is not a bigger tank... mine is normal size and should have plenty of hot water for 2, 10 minute showers.

what are other possibilities?
can i adjust the heater to warm up at 5am or something?
is it more of a plumbing issue than a water tank issue?

I am terrified of the little varmin. Last nite, I was putting supper dishes away and out of no where a mouse come into my kitchen across the floor and when I caught a glimpse of it, I screamed and he ran under the kitchen counters and then after about 10 minutes, I went back into the kitchen and it was running around next to the base cabinets. I am scared of mice.
I got to get rid of that mouse. What to do?

duplex townhouse, I own half & neighbors own other half. The neighbors have a 13 yr old son I give him $15 bucks to mow front yard. The neighbors supposely give son another $15 . So he gets at $30 for mow job. It was cheaper for me than buying a mower. The father got laid off and now is working again. I thought it would benefit both sides. Saturday without letting me know which they' have always done for the past 15 years their son did the leaves in the front yard I gave him 20 bucks 5 dollar tip. So my daughter comes back to tell me that my share I owe is $45 because it took him 41/2 hrs to do that's $90 ( $20 an hr for a 13 yr old). I called the father up and told him I can't afford this. The reason we're having his son do it was to save money. They said they couldn't get in contact with me. If they couldn't I feel that they shouldn't have done it unless we have a clear understand on what son should be paid. I will pay this time but not anymore. I feel used.

My son is growing pumpkins from seeds he planted at his school. There are 5 little plants about 4" high growing in a plastic cup. The roots are looking a little cramped. We live in the Tampa area of Florida. Can I plant them outside now or do I just get a bigger pot to put them in? I don't know anything about growing pumpkins, but my son really wants to grow one. Can someone give me some advice about when to plant them, what to feed them, what about bugs, where do I plant them outside (sun, shade?). Thanks in advance!

I fear my father has just got a bad job done by a group of chancers. So be it, it is now done, but I am wondering what I could do it to ensure it lasts a bit longer than I expect it will. Can I coat it with something? it does look a bit course, how do I make it shiney?

Any help greatly appreciated,
Mike

We thought we could smell damp in our bathroom and removed the tiles around the bath, the walls are soaking and the water from the shower has been leaking into them.

Plasterboard, tiles etc will all need replacing? Would this be covered by insurance??

This is the first real Christmas for my 2 1/2 year old son and me. So, I would like to get a real Christmas tree this year, verses my fake one. So, as a "first time real tree buyer", I do have some questions:

*When should you buy it to last longest?
*What type is the best for longevity?
*How do you protect hardwood floors under it?
*What is the best tree stand (plastic with the hole in the center or the metal ones that you screw in for the width of trunk?
*How to water it and when? Do you use aspirin in water?
*What to look for when picking it out at Tree Forest?

Any other advice would be great. It will be just me tying it to the top of my car and hauling it back to the house. Guess I also should know the best way to do that (string or bungie cords). I have a VW wagon with roof rails.

Thank you so much!

Our backyard is mostly dirt/sand and it is too late to do any sodding, but we have to stop the stuff from being kicked up by the dogs. It's causing major respiratory problems in the family. Any ideas on how to fix this until we can sod in the spring? Wetting it down daily just makes mud, but with the dogs running around and playing, it's like a dust storm and it's affecting my breathing as well as the dog's allergies. We live near a marsh in Savannah, and until the frost threat goes away, we can't sod.

Help! I can't breathe any more!
