In our old house we used to have mice coming into the garage when the weather got colder. I tried many different techniques from the fancy traps to bait, and the only thing that ever worked for me was the good, old fashioned, spring-loaded trap with cheese and peanut butter.
Cut a small piece of cheese (nothing too big - need to keep them hungry so they come back if the trap doesn't get them the first time) and put peanut butter on top. Then set the trap near the location where you find them coming into the house/kitchen, with the peanut butter side down - this will help the cheese stick to the trap and makes it release better when they try to take the cheese.
I caught 9 mice in one day with this method.
As for anyone that doesn't believe in killing mice - this method is actually very humane, and just consider the amount of disease these rodents spread.
Good luck with your 'project'. ;-)

Happy, I don't like mice or mouse, only Mighty Mouse or Mickey Mouse! I've used sticky-paper squares(about the size of a sheet of printing paper) it has Glue on 1 side to catch the mouse. When mousy steps in this sticky stuff he can't get away, he's stuck until you let him go. I like this because it's less messy and does a good job of catching Mousy! It's available at the pharmacy, and hardware stores. Good luck! Take care! Jimmy.

Good luck getting rid of mice-did you know where there is one, there are several?
Last year at this time, I lived in the basement of my sister´s house, and because it´s getting colder, mice go into homes. Well, we killed one in a trap, but others got into the ceilings, so an exterminator came and put traps where there´s a special thing the mice eat and then it eats their bodies-gross, but it worked.
Get the one you have now-set a trap with cheese or something else cheesy, and the spring traps will get it.

I do not believe in killing any type of creature. Only if my life is at stake or someone elses. Just put up all of your food. Bread in the fridge, rinse your dirty dishes, etc... The mouse will get so hungry that he will leave. I f you have pets you also need to put their food away after they are done. Mice love dog and cat food.

Get a cat! If you don't have time to take care of one, borrow it from your neighbor/parents/friends. keep it in the kitchen for a day or two and your mouse will be gone. It will either find a safer place to move or end up as a kitty snack.

Get a trap. Don't get the one that is open. There are closed ones now so that you don't have to see the dead little critter, all you see is the tail hanging out the hole. Once you catch it, just throw the whole thing away. I pick mine up with tongs. Yuk, I hate mice.
No vampire they don't leave...they die and smell.

DeCon is the best. They eat it and expire fast under the stove or behind the cabinets.

the most self satisfying way to kill any annoying creature is a 12 mm barrel pump action shot gun. On second thoughts considering the well being of your furniture you might want to use trap or rat poison, if you don't have crawling babies in your house that is.
