It seems like it's got to be simple, I've done it before. Now I can't find the instructions, can't figure it out and can't find any information on tightening the collet on the internet.

I can press the button that stops the collet from rotating, but even with a wrench I can't seem to turn the collet to tighten it with the button pressed.

Tool guys, help!

Thanks DIY doc, yes, the collet locks when I press the button.

The bit I have barely fits into the collet but it does fit. I usually only use the one diamond bit but used another one recently and now can't figure out how to get the one I like back in...

There are different collets for varying sizes of bit. It sounds like you might be using a bit with a smaller shaft than the collet will tighten to. I have three different sizes for mine.

Their must be a problem with your tool because that is exactly how I change the bits in my Dremel. Press the button and turn the collet to loosen. Are you saying that it won't tighten? Are you pressing the button all the way down?
I wonder if your collet is damaged some how. I'm sorry, wish I could have been more helpful.
Good Luck

You already understand the process and the tool, and how to. Perhaps the jaws of the collet have become misaligned/worn/ etc.?

Bit sizes are pretty standard in diameter, no matter who manufactures them. Does the tool LOCK when you press the lock button?

Perhaps Eskielover will find this Q. She offers excellent suggestions.
