I would like to know not only how to build it, but what to put in it to begin. I think that you need to "layer" the first stuff you put in, but I have no idea! Please people who have done this give me some tips & websites to check out.

Mom loves hummingbirds, but she's not a big fan of feeders. She noticed a hummingbird checking out the tin decorations on a window the other day (apparently they're not all that bright), and I thought maybe I could get her something that doesn't send them away hungry.

There are no local requirements for historic preservation and we cannot locate any information regarding the original color palatte that was used on the house. Please give us some suggestions.

I've heard a lot of contradictions to this. I know that light will cause newer piano keys to yellow, since they are plastic. However, what about real, ivory keys? I have an antique upright grand built in 1904. I read on a couple sites created by piano tuners that light is actually GOOD for them & to make them white again, expose them to light by keeping the key lid up. HOWEVER... my tuner says the opposite, that light will only make them more yellow & I should try & keep my lid closed whenever I'm not using it.

So which is it?

Any suggestions, too?

Also, if you have an antique piano, I'd love to hear from you, too. Tell me about it. I just love them :)

So I'm looking to buy a window air conditioner and have no idea what to get? What does BTU mean? How much does a good air conditioner cost? I just need one for my bedroom we have others throughout the house, but the one in my room I think has mold or something and I HATE the smell so I'm getting a new one.

I've been watering my fly trap once every morning for about a year, and it's been doing fine. But lately it's been getting really droopy. It's not being overawatered or anything, so I cant figure out whats wrong. It's on my kitchen window sill, and it's never really caught bugs, so I've always fed them to it, usually moths or small crickets.

I'm building a shop building on an existing slab that has some big cracks and chips. Is there any easy way to pour a thin layer of concrete over the old floor. Other suggestions?

I have a 6 ft. T-shaped metal pole (it used to be for a clothes line). I would like to place a wine barrel half beneath it and plant the small wisteria starter (which looks like a small tree) in it. Is it possible for it to survive, climb that pole and continually live in that environment?

My flip-flops always have a feet mark because of the dirt constantly around the feet from the open flip-flops....is there anyway, other than vigorously scrubbing them with toothbrush, to get them clean? I can usually get them decently clean, but I stand over the sink with a toothbrush scrubbing forever! I need an easier method! Help.
