Since there are no local requirements, you can paint the house any colors you choose. Myself, I would choose a variety of colors and try them on the house for a few days before making a final decision. The normal Victorian home in my neighborhood seems to have about 5-10 different shades of bright colors. If you have various styles of siding, you might want to consider a different color for each style as well as trim and shutters. Sometimes, various balusters and posts are painted in stripe patterns (myself, I find that gaudy, but it is done).

I am not sure exactly what colors to go with but I have always wanted to have a pink house with white trim and a white picket fence. Not to mention a trellis with flowers all over it! Of course, I live in a very pale blue house with white trim.
